Grown by Oak Valley Vegetables in Morden, Manitoba
Oak Valley Vegetables is a small organic vegetable farm located just a few miles south of Morden, Manitoba.
Oak Valley Vegetables have chosen a healthier, more sustainable model of farming that works alongside the community of life within the soil to grow strong, healthy, flavourful vegetables.
The farm began in 2010 with only 2 acres and has since expanded to 12 acres with continued growth in the plans.
The farm is owned and operated by Dennis and Gloria Hoeppner along with their 2 sons. They also employ a number of staff throughout the summer months.
The Hoeppners recognize that the soil is full of life; thousands, if not millions, of organisms - from small bugs and insects to bacteria and fungi - live in the soil. The activity of these organisms creates strong, healthy soil that nourishes and grows their flavourful and nutritious crops. The family uses farming practices that compliment and work with the soil’s life.
